Mir Cement had a strong brand, a decades-old reputation, and a website that Google was barely noticing. When Khan IT took over their SEO in July 2024, organic traffic had been flat for months. Six months later, the site generated 9,170 clicks and 210,000 impressions in a single month. Here is exactly how that happened.
Client Background
Mir Cement Ltd. is one of Bangladesh’s established cement manufacturers, operating as a subsidiary of Mir Akhter Hossain Limited and part of the Mir Group of Companies. With over 23 years in the construction materials industry, they supply cement to major real estate developers, infrastructure projects, and individual buyers across Bangladesh. Their client list includes names like BTI, Navana, and Summit Group.
Despite the brand strength, their website was not converting that reputation into organic search visibility. High-value keywords like “best cement in Bangladesh” and “best cement company in Bangladesh” were being targeted by the site in name only. In practice, no page owned those keywords clearly, and traffic had been declining.
The Starting Point: What We Found in June 2024
Before committing to any strategy, we ran a full technical and content audit of mircement.com.
The Semrush data from June 2024 showed:
| Metric | June 2024 (Before) |
|---|---|
| Organic Traffic | 1,100/month |
| Organic Keywords | 60 |
| Authority Score | 11 |
| Referring Domains | 265 |
| Backlinks | 978 |
| Traffic Change (trend) | -39% decline |
Organic traffic was down 39% year-on-year. Only 60 keywords were generating any impressions. The site had decent backlinks from its industry history but was not converting that link equity into rankings.
Three core problems stood out immediately.
Keyword Cannibalization Multiple pages were targeting the same keywords without any clear page-to-keyword mapping. The homepage, the about page, and several product pages were all loosely optimized for “best cement in Bangladesh” but none of them owned it. Google had no clear signal about which page to rank, so it ranked none of them well.
Technical Issues The site had crawl inefficiencies, unoptimized image files, and metadata that either duplicated across pages or was missing entirely. Internal linking was inconsistent. Several important pages were not getting crawled at the frequency they deserved.
Google Business Profile Suspended This was critical. Mir Cement’s GBP had been suspended. For a brand that depends on visibility in Bangladesh, a suspended GBP means zero local pack presence. This was an early priority.
The Strategy: What We Did and Why
Month 1 (July 2024): Technical Foundation First
We do not skip the technical phase to get to content faster. Rankings built on a broken foundation do not hold.
The first month focused entirely on:
- Full keyword research and page-level keyword mapping. Every page got an assigned primary keyword and two to three supporting keywords. No two pages would compete with each other.
- Fixing crawl issues and metadata gaps across all key pages
- Compressing and tagging images correctly for image SEO
- Resolving internal linking gaps so link equity flowed to priority pages
- Submitting the corrected sitemap
We also began the Google Business Profile recovery process. The suspended profile required a review request and documentation before resubmission. We rebuilt and resubmitted the profile, which is now live at the verified GBP link.
Months 2 to 4: Content and On-Page Optimization
With the technical foundation stable, we moved to content. Two blog posts went live each month, targeting keyword gaps in the cement and construction niche in Bangladesh. Each post was written to answer real questions that buyers and specifiers search for, not just keyword-stuffed articles.
On-page optimization touched every major service and product page. We adjusted heading structures, rewrote title tags, added proper alt text to images, and strengthened internal links between the blog content and the priority commercial pages.
One challenge we faced: when we proposed rewriting the homepage content to better align with target keywords, the client preferred to keep the existing copy. We respected that decision and worked around it, focusing our content improvements on inner pages and the blog where we had full editorial control.
A second limitation: we had requested video content for key pages to improve time-on-site and user experience signals. That content was not available during the project. We noted it as an ongoing recommendation.
Neither limitation stopped the results. It is worth being clear about that.
Months 4 to 6: Backlink Building and Local Authority
We built relevant, high-quality backlinks from local Bangladeshi directories, industry publications, and construction-adjacent websites. The focus was relevance and context, not volume.
The GBP, now live and verified, was optimized with accurate business information, categories, and regular post activity to signal ongoing engagement to Google.
Image SEO, which we had started in Month 1, continued to generate additional impressions through Google Image Search. For a product-led brand like Mir Cement, image visibility has real commercial value.
The Results: December 2024
After 5 months of active SEO work (with the project beginning in July 2024), the December 2024 Google Search Console data showed:

| Metric | December 2024 (After) |
|---|---|
| Total Clicks | 9,170 |
| Total Impressions | 210,000 |
| Average CTR | 4.4% |
| Average Position | 14.3 |
The site went from 60 organic keywords and 1,100 monthly visitors in June 2024 to generating over 9,000 clicks per month by December 2024. Impressions reached 210,000 in that single month, meaning Mir Cement’s pages were appearing in Google results over 200,000 times.
The primary commercial keywords, “best cement in Bangladesh” and “best cement company in Bangladesh,” which were the two stated goals at the start of this project, achieved strong first-page rankings. Reaching position 1 for those terms in a category as competitive as construction materials in Bangladesh required sustained effort across technical SEO, content, and authority building. That work paid off within the project timeline.
The Keyword Ranking Position
| Keyword | Position (Dec 2024) |
| cement in bangladesh | 1 |
| best cement in bangladesh | 1 |
| top cement in bangladesh | 1 |
| cement company in bangladesh | 1 |
| best cement company in bangladesh | 1 |
| top cement company in bangladesh | 1 |
| cement brand in bangladesh | 1 |
| best cement brand in bangladesh | 1 |
| top cement brand in bangladesh | 1 |
| cement price in bangladesh | 2 |
| best cement price in bangladesh | 2 |
| top cement price in bangladesh | 1 |
What Made the Difference
A few specific decisions drove the outcome more than others.
Keyword cannibalization fix. Until every page had a clear, assigned keyword focus, the site was competing against itself. Fixing this alone improved ranking signals for the commercial pages within weeks of implementation.
GBP recovery. Rebuilding the suspended Google Business Profile restored local visibility that the brand had lost entirely. This contributed to branded and near-me search performance that the GSC data reflects.
Image SEO. Most cement company websites treat images as decoration. We treated them as indexable content. Proper file naming, alt text, and compression helped Mir Cement appear in image searches, adding a traffic channel that most competitors ignore.
Consistent blog content. Two posts per month sounds modest. But over five months, that is ten pieces of content each targeting a real search query. That compounds. Each post brought in its own keywords and linked authority back to the commercial pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long did it take to see results from this SEO campaign?
We began work in July 2024. Meaningful ranking improvements appeared within 3 months, and the strongest results, visible in the December 2024 GSC data, came after 5 months of consistent work. SEO is not instant. But when the foundation is right, results compound steadily.
What were the biggest challenges in this project?
Two main challenges. First, we could not rewrite the homepage content as planned because the client preferred to keep the existing copy. Second, video content for key pages was unavailable. We worked around both and still delivered strong results, which shows that a well-executed technical and content strategy can perform even when not every element is in place.
Did you use any paid advertising for these results?
No. All results shown are from organic search only. Mir Cement runs zero paid search campaigns. Every click in the GSC data came from unpaid rankings.
What is keyword cannibalization and why did it matter here?
Keyword cannibalization happens when multiple pages on the same website target the same keyword. Google cannot decide which page to rank, so it often ranks none of them well. Mir Cement’s site had this problem across its commercial pages. Fixing it meant assigning clear keyword ownership to each page so Google had a single, strong signal per query.
What is included in your website maintenance service?
Each month we take a full site backup, run security scans and patches, and update all WordPress plugins and themes. This keeps the site stable, secure, and performing at full speed without the client needing to manage it themselves.
Can you do this for other cement or construction companies?
Yes. The same methodology applies to any construction, manufacturing, or industrial brand trying to grow organic visibility in Bangladesh or internationally. If your site has been flat for months or you are losing traffic to competitors, the starting point is always the same: a proper audit to find what is actually holding you back.
